Simple Video Capture from any Mac, PC, or Linux computer
When video needs to be captured from a Mac, PC, or Linux computer, most users would choose software solutions. However, there are situations where a video capture program is not practical. Such situations occur when a screen needs to be captured where other software cannot run in the background, like when the operating system is booting up, in BIOS, or in command prompt. Also, running a video capture application in the background often causes the system to lag and making the computer barely usable. Finally, due to security concerns, video capture programs are not authorized for use on some systems. This is where the VGA2USB video capture device from Epiphan Systems comes in.
Using the video capture device connected to any VGA port, users are able to make screenshots or record video directly from the computer's monitor, without any software installed on the source machine. Furthermore, VGA to USB is able to acquire the image from any VGA port at resolutions up to 2048 x 2048, and can often record at over 30 frames per second, with zero loss in quality. This means that recording HD instructional videos, capturing images from highly precise industrial systems, and recording videos from navigational systems such as radars can be easily done.
The VGA2USB frame grabber lets you record a monitor's output using any video codec, including DivX, Xvid, and other MPEG-4 variants. Furthermore, using free software available from Epiphan Systems' website, it is possible to create instant sceenshots in JPEG, PNG, GIF, or BMP formats.
